About: Sarah Ferne Park

Hello! I am a licensed professional clinical counselor, LPCC, 6546. I currently run a private practice psychotherapy office located in Auburn California.

Beliefs:

I believe that humans are resilient.

I believe that we are our own experts.

I believe in hope and optimism.

I believe in connection to ourselves, others, and the world around us.

I believe in grace.

I believe in kindness.

I believe that every individual has a choice to live their best life.

I believe showing up is our super power; first and foremost, for ourselves, and then for the people, community, and world around us.

Personal:

I value connection more than anything. Time spent with my family and friends is priceless,  I love being a mother to my two children and my fur babies. I feel extremely grounded by and empowered through my connection to nature. I spend a tremendous amount of time exploring the outdoors both locally and afar. I am an avid explorer and wanderer. I feel passionate about being connected to ourselves, our community, and the world around us. Some of my personal hobbies include; mountain biking, yoga, meditation, camping, hiking, backpacking, dirt bike riding, and exploring the wild wonder that abounds us and ties us. I also love time spent at home, with books, in my kitchen, and on my porch. I find passion in the power of stillness as well as the adventure found in a quick pace. Balance, even if precarious, is my strive.  I feel honored to work in a career I love that also affords me time to spend on my personal passions and interests.

Professional:

I have been working in various capacities with children and families for over 20 years. My roots began in special education, specifically working with Autism Spectrum Disorder. After pursuing a BA in psychology (graduated with honors), I went on to graduate school in professional clinical counseling (graduated summa cum laude). While pursuing my education I had the opportunity to work within county agencies, school districts, on base with military members and their families, and in the prison system. I have been serving clients in a private practice setting since 2016.

I have training in various techniques and therapeutic practices. I believe in an integrated approach in order to best serve the needs of each individual. Some of the approaches I regularly apply in the office are: cognitive behavioral therapy, person centered approach therapy, ecotherapy, relaxation techniques, mindfulness and meditation training, brainspotting, and sand tray therapy.

Philosophy:

My goal is to provide a supportive and encouraging environment to facilitate growth and change for individuals, children, couples, and families. I believe that each individual has the tools they need to successfully navigate any life circumstance, and with support and encouragement, can integrate their tools to both survive and thrive through life’s challenges.
